BUAFL 2010 Season
The 2010 season was just as testing as the previous season for The Royals as recruitment wasn't as good as was first hoped. Despite a squad of about 25 players, the Royals battled through as a team and by the end of the season the squad had high moral and were focused on rebuilding for the 2011 season.
Disappointing games against Gloucester Gladiators, NTU Renegades and Lincoln Colonials were alongside positive performances against Birmingham Lions, Staffordshire Stallions and Coventry Jets. Several Rookie players stepped up to the mark and proved that you can learn the game in 6 months, players such as Matt Aston, Josh Chambers and James Harris gave solid performances in games towards the back end of the season. Going into the 2011 season, hopes are high that a big recruitment push and committed players can provide the Royals with league results that can see them go from strength to strength.
