BUAFL 2011 Season -

The 2011 season has already started for The Royals with recruitment high on the agenda. With a grant from a governing body, The Royals have been able to buy playing kit and game day equipment to help reduce the cost for players coming in next year. The joining fee have been a problem in the past but now we can compete with the rest of the sports at the University and offer great opportunity to all students for a minimal fee.

The fixtures vary for The Royals, who face a mixture of both novice and experienced team's in BUAFL. The first home game is against the newly established Northampton Nemesis followed by games against Reading Knights, NTU Renegades and Staffordshire Stallions. Long away trips to DMU Leicester Falcons, Lincoln Colonials, Bath Spa Bulldog and finally a trip to local rivals Gloucester Gladiators (see below for dates).

Stephenson Terrace (Home Field) -

The Worcester Royals and the University have worked closely over the past 3 years to find a stable home ground for the team. Prior to the 2011 BUAFL Season an agreement was struck to rejuvenate a patch of land off Stevenson Terrace that the University has owned for some years. After extensive work by the Universiy groundsmen, the undulating, meadowland was turned into a full 100 yard Amercian Football pitch, one of very few in the coutry. When going underfoot is unsure after heavy rain it is fair to say some interesting Football could ensue due to the close proximity to the River Severn. Parking is also currently an issue however anyone wishing to come and watch has the option of parking in the Swan Theate car park and walking down Severn Terrace or the racecourse to the pitch. We look forward to seeing you for a home fixture sometime during the season.
