Recruitment of Student Trustees for 2013 / 2014

We’re currently recruiting for four new student trustees. This is a great opportunity for continuing students to be right at the heart of decision-making by joining the board of trustees of Worcester Students’ Union. You should be keen to get experience of being a charity trustee, prepared to commit some time to the role (including attending board meetings and being involved with sub-committees) and ready to play a full part in problem-solving, decision-making and strategic management of the organisation. Just think how impressed employers will be!

Come along to the Annual General Meeting on Tuesday 23rd April at 1:15pm in the Pear Tree to find out more about what the board of trustees does and make sure your application is submitted to the SU Welcome Desk by 5pm on Wednesday 24th April. Board of Trustees

Worcester Students’ Union is a registered charity number 1145192.  The organisation is an unincorporated association, although the Board of Trustees may take the decision in the future to incorporate (become a company). The Board of Trustees is made up of the three Officer Trustees (the Sabbatical Officers), three external trustees and four student trustees, recruited and selected by the Appointments Committee.

The constitution of Worcester Students’ Union (its governing document) sets out the membership of the Board of Trustees. It is important, as a student-led organisation, that the Board has a majority of student and officer trustees, but external trustees help to provide continuity and bring a range of skills and expertise to the Board which strengthen the organisation.
