VOTE VICTORIA FOR VICE PRESIDENT EDUCATION

My name is Victoria, I am a Course-Rep, a Student Ambassador (West-Africa), Chair of the Nigerian Society and BAME Network, Panel Member in the Academic Quality Unit and I’m running to be your next Vice President Education.

My key policies are;

  • Lobby for assessment deadlines to be spread across so that students would not submit several assessments on the same day/week.
  • Ensure the provision of sufficient module information to aid students in their decision-making and selection process.
  • Advocate for recorded lectures to enhance students’ learning experience.
  • Encourage better well-being support where students with mental health or general health challenges can get time off studies when needed.
  • Ensure the awareness of Personal Academic Tutors (PATs) and improve the engagement between PATs and students.
  • Lobby for fairness in timetabling and good timetabling for parents, carers, and students with special needs.
  • Work with the Careers office to improve careers fair to accommodate Tier 2 sponsored jobs for international students.

You should vote for me because I have represented all students at different levels within the University. I have successfully advocated for international students in getting their CAS during the COVID pandemic and I have pushed a policy to improve accommodation services for international students and those with dependents. I have previously led students as SU Women’s Commissioner, International students P.R.O., among others during my undergraduate studies and my passion for Education led me to establish an NGO in Nigeria to cater for disadvantaged children.
