Would you like play a key role in helping our core and student staff to deliver excellent services to students? We're looking for someone to provide vital administrative support to our HR and finance functions, and to supervise our friendly Welcome Desk (reception) operation and its student staff.
We are a small team that delivers a lot for our members (the students at the University of Worcester). We are independent from the University and exist to support and represent our students and provide them with amazing experiences outside of their academic studies. You can see our current strategy here.
This is an interesting, multifaceted role for someone who loves being organised, who is willing to learn, good with people, and who has great attention to detail. You will report to both the Chief Executive and the Director of Finance and Commercial and will interact with the whole team across the organisation.
Whilst experience in the areas of HR, finance, and supervising others is desirable, this is an entry level role, which will enable the right candidate to make a real difference to the Students’ Union and its operations. We will support the right person in post to develop their skills and experience and will seek their ideas to keep improving what we do. You can find more information on the specifics of the role in the job description bellow.

Students’ Unions are busy and unique places to work, where you can have fun at work, develop your own professional portfolio, and enhance the lives of others. You will work on site, mainly at St John’s and City campuses, as well as occasional visits to the Riverside and Dudley Campuses. This is a student and staff facing role so being on campus is essential to make sure the wider team and student staff get to know you.
Worcester Students’ Union recognises the value of difference and is committed to equality of opportunity for all. We welcome applications from individuals regardless of their race, colour, ethnic or national origin, sex, sexual orientation, gender reassignment, religious belief, age, marital status or disability, or any other individual characteristic or intersectionality of different characteristics.
We want to support a diverse and inclusive work environment as we believe it makes a team more effective and are actively looking for people who share our values. You can see our work as an organisation and commitment to equality, diversity, and inclusion here.
We know that diverse candidates may be put off applying for jobs where they don’t meet 100% of the criteria outlined in the job description but we encourage anyone to apply who can demonstrate skills and experiences relevant to the role.
If you would like to discuss any reasonable adjustments to the application process that may better facilitate your participation, please contact us by sending an email to StudentunionHR@worc.ac.uk. We will make every effort to respond to your request for assistance.
We very much look forward to hearing from you!
