Get ready for the 2025-26 SU Leadership Elections with our handy guide to the key dates and what they all mean!
Our SU Leadership Elections to elect our Students’ Union President, Vice President Student Activities, and Vice President Education for the 2025-26 academic year will be taking place from 25th – 27th February 2025. Here’s a rundown of the key dates and what they each mean:
Recommend A Friend runs from 9th December – 19th January and is your chance to tell us about someone who you think is a good fit for our Officer roles!
Do you know a committee member who lives and breathes activities, or a rep who goes above and beyond for education, or are you curious about becoming an Officer yourself?
Fill out our Recommend a Friend Form and we’ll send whoever you recommend more details about potentially becoming an officer.
Nominations Open from 20th January – 17th February, and this is your chance to put yourself forward to potentially become one of our Officers for the 2025-26 academic year! You’ll need to write a manifesto, which is a set of promises of what you hope to improve if you’re elected.
Candidate Campaign Launch on 24th February is when we’ll announce who’s running in the elections, also known as our candidates, and they’ll start working hard to convince you to vote for them!
Question Time is an event where everyone has the chance to ask our candidates all about their manifestos! Is there something none of the candidates have talked about you want to know? Come and watch live in The Hangar on 25th February or online.
Voting Opens from 25th – 27th February, this is when it’s time to have your say on which candidates you want to run your Students’ Union in 2025-2026. Voting is done online or you can visit one of our in-person polling stations across the University.
When you vote for each Officer position, you’ll rank the candidates from your first to last choice. If your preferred candidate is voted out, we’ll count your vote towards your next choice.
Think one or more candidates aren’t a good fit for the role? Vote to Re-Open Nominations if you’d rather have another election to give new people the opportunity to run.
Results Night on 28th February is when we announce the votes and whoever gets the most for each role is elected! They don’t start their roles right away though, as the current Officers will still represent you until the end of their term in June. This gives our outgoing Officers time to finish any campaigns they’re working on and prepare to handover their role, and our incoming Officers time to prepare for their new roles!
We’ll be keeping you updated with more information throughout the elections at worcsu.com/ducks and on our Instagram, Facebook and TikTok. Any questions about elections? Drop us a DM on our social media or email our SU Elections team.
