Have you ever wondered what makes a great Students’ Union officer? We're looking for students to take the lead as our President, Vice-President Student Activities and Vice-President Education!

There’s no one way to be a fantastic Officer, but having one of these 5 traits is definitely a great start no matter which role you’re interested in:

  1. The Storyteller is a great communicator and always keeps the conversation flowing. If you’re in a meeting, giving a presentation, or just chatting with other students, you always know how to keep everyone engaged. Our Club/Society Vice Chair Inclusivity and Promotions and our Welcome Desk team are great Storytellers.

  2. The Team Player can work with just about anyone! You’re great at building relationships with new people, bringing people together and motivating your peers. You might be a Team Player too if you’re one of our Club/Society Chairs, a Social Secretary or part of our Hangar team.

  3. The Organiser is the go-to person for keeping everyone on track, even when things get a bit hectic. You manage your time like a pro but make sure you’re ready to adapt to any changes that come your way too. If you’re a Club/Society Vice Chair Finance and Admin, you’re probably an Organiser too!

  4. The Thinker is always in the loop because you love learning new things and staying up to date with important issues. You’re curious and analytical, always seeking out new perspectives to help you make informed decisions. Our Department/Course Reps are usually Thinkers.

  5. The Champion is passionate about making a difference and improving the world around them! You’re enthusiastic about creating positive change, whether that’s through organising events, leading campaigns or advocating for student rights. Champions are often part of RAG team or Network Chairs/Vice Chairs!
