Whether you’re an experienced rider, getting back in the saddle, or have never ridden before, the Equestrian Club is open to all University of Worcester students with an interest in horses and all things equestrian.
We offer riding opportunities, competitions and social events throughout the year, so you can get involved as much or as little as you like.

BUCS Competitions
Our two BUCS teams represent the University of Worcester in university-level equestrian competitions.
Competitions involve a dressage test followed by a show jumping round, with riders allocated a horse at the competition. Our BUCS teams train regularly with instructors at Court Equestrian, just 10 minutes from the University.
Whether your goal is to compete at university level or simply develop your riding, there are opportunities to get involved.
Riding Opportunities
Want to ride at university without committing to a competition team? We offer riding opportunities throughout the week for members of all abilities, from complete beginners to experienced riders.
Sessions can range from around 30 minutes to an hour, with lessons and hacks available depending on availability.
No previous riding experience is required, and you can get involved as much or as little as you like.
Socials
We’re planning a range of social events throughout the 2026/27 academic year, giving members the opportunity to meet other students, make friends and get involved outside of riding.

We also hope to offer a mixture of social events, including both alcoholic and sober options, so there are opportunities for everyone to get involved.
Who Can Join?
Everyone!
You don’t need to own a horse, have riding experience or compete to join the Equestrian Club.
Whether you’re an experienced competitive rider, haven’t ridden since you were a child, are completely new to horses, or simply want to meet people who share your interest in equestrianism, there’s a place for you in our club.
