Staff Contacts
Every School/Department has a named member of academic staff with responsibility for supporting the Department Reps and Course Reps within that School/Department. These are called the Academic Representation Coordinators, known for short as
ARCs, and Course Rep Coordinators.

You also have a lot of support from the Students' Union (both Officer and staff teams):
Worcester Students' Union is affiliated to NUS. The National Union of Students recognises the vital role played by Course Reps, in representing the student voice and driving forward changes which enhance the quality of the educational experience of students on their courses. Here are some of the
NUS resources you may find useful.
This "tool" can be used by Course Reps and University staff to explore how well developed our course representation is and how it might be further improved.
We know that assessment and feedback is a recurring cause for concern amongst students. This document highlights the range of practices and provides examples of what might constitute positive changes.
This report includes examples of good practice from a number of Universities which have developed effective ways of getting students more involved and better engaged in their students' union and university.
The Teaching Excellence Framework (TEF)
The Teaching Excellence Framework (TEF) is a national scheme run by the Office for Students (OfS) that aims to encourage higher education providers to improve and deliver excellence in the areas that students care about the most: teaching, learning and achieving positive outcomes from their studies. The purpose is to:
-
Give students clear information about where teaching quality is best and where students have achieved the best outcomes;
-
Encourage a stronger focus on the quality of teaching in higher education.
You can find a handy guide from HEFCE (Higher Education Funding Council for England)

Following its submission in 2023, the University was awarded a Silver rating in the TEF. You can find further details
